EDC Demand to Grow Further Thanks to PVC Production Upgrading in China According to Merchant Research & Consulting, Ltd

http://mcgroup.co.uk/

London, UK (PRWEB) February 02, 2012

The ethylene dichloride (EDC) industry relies largely on the total PVC demand as it contributes substantially to the EDC consumption expansion. As PVC is being inevitably used in the growing number of industries as a substitute for wood, metal and glass, the EDC market is forecast to grow largely. The projected annual growth rate here is expected to reach up to 3.5-4% in the coming 5 years.

The key contributor to the EDC market rise up in the geographical terms is the rapidly expanding Chinese market. Moreover with the shift of the key PVC producers here from the obsolete carbide route to the technologies requiring EDC the global EDC demand will reach further heights. The developed markets of North America and Europe however rest at a standstill.

Exhaustive review of the total ethylene dichloride market is in the focus of the new market research report “Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) 2012 World Market Outlook and Forecast up to 2017”. The report covers market information to present the EDC industry at the global, regional and country-wise levels and show the development of the market in the past at present and in the future through 2017.

The report analyses major market statistics such as EDC production and consumption volumes, prices during the reviewed periods and trade activities. Key market participants are profiled, the competitive landscape is examined, and the future projections on the coming trends, opportunities and awaited market volumes and prices are covered.

By Providing $ 463,000 in Annual Support, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Underscores Foundation for Global Scholars’ Mission to Fund Scholarships for Emerging Leaders

Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) January 30, 2012

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad, a provider of international education programs across the globe promoting academic, cultural, personal, professional and social discovery, is providing $ 463,000 in annual support to the Foundation for Global Scholars to fund international education scholarships for students who are emerging leaders.

“GlobaLinks Learning Abroad is proud to support the important work of the Foundation for Global Scholars to make education abroad a reality for more students,” said Cynthia Banks, founder and executive director of GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. “Our organization played an integral role in the Foundation’s launch six years ago, and we are pleased to continue contributing to its mission into the future.”

Started in 2006, the Foundation for Global Scholars is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Denver whose mission is to create a global workforce that positively influences the future success of the United States. Through study abroad scholarships, the Foundation enables students to make the journey from national citizens to global citizens to global leaders. Scholarship awards are given for a variety of programs, including academic, internship, and service learning. Students who are from underrepresented populations in international education are a priority.

“This generous support from GlobaLinks Learning Abroad enables us to award scholarships to students who are emerging leaders from colleges and universities all over the U.S. and Canada,” said Foundation Chair Christie Doherty. “This backing has helped us award nearly $ 1 million in scholarships since we began distributing funds to students in 2007.”

The Foundation seeks support through financial and other contributions from individuals and organizations that will ultimately benefit when hiring students with international education experiences, as well as entities that see the value of education abroad, both for their own goals and the world in general.

“Since our founding, we’ve given scholarships to more than 900 students in the U.S. and Canada who have gone to more than 16 countries via a wide variety of international education programs,” Doherty said. “Our scholarships fill a void in study abroad financial support and create real opportunities for students who otherwise might not be able to gain the valuable experiences abroad that are so important in the development of global leaders.”

Complete video at: fora.tv In this highlight from May 2007, noted atheist Christopher Hitchens compares monotheistic belief to a despotic dictatorship — similar to his observations of North Korea under Kim Jong Il. The key difference, he argues? “You can get out of North Korea – you can die, and it’s over. You can’t do that with monotheism.” —– Christopher Hitchens speaks about his new book God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. Hitchens, an always colorful and sometimes outrageous commentator, now takes aim at God. Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins have tried, but that hard-to-hit Fellow keeps popping back up. Worse still are the violent ways of his flock: waging religious warfare, keeping women enslaved, fomenting universal hatreds. Hitchens makes a powerful case for atheism – Politics and Prose Christopher Hitchens is an author and journalist whose books, essays, and journalistic career span more than four decades. He has been a columnist and literary critic at The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, Slate, World Affairs, The Nation, Free Inquiry, and became a media fellow at the Hoover Institution in 2008.
